Entrepreneurship & SME Management

Entrepreneurship & SME Management

If you want to work in large hotel chains, general hotel management or start your own business, then Entrepreneurship & Small and Medium Enterprise Management is the specialization for you. You will develop an understanding of strategic marketing, financial objectives and the development of projects to meet and exceed business goals.

If you know you are an entrepreneur at heart, this degree will give you the confidence and skills to set up your own business. Whether you are interested in founding or owning a hotel, resort or restaurant, you will need to manage all aspects of the hospitality business. 

You will be recruiting and managing employees of all levels, developing relationships with financial firms, and setting up internal systems to ensure your business is efficient and profitable. We will help you to prepare for all of these challenges, as well as encouraging you to think creatively, teaching you how to establish fantastic relationships with suppliers, and market yourself and your business in a busy environment.

Event Management

Event Management

The events industry is flourishing globally and the management of events has become increasingly popular within the hospitality, tourism, leisure and sports sectors. Understanding the basics of event management will help you to effectively plan and deliver all types of events; from corporate meetings, incentive trips and conferences to exhibitions, festivals and sporting events.

As an Event Coordinator, you will make sure that meetings, conferences, wedding parties, and other events, run smoothly. You will be in charge of preparing quotes and dealing with prospective clients and suppliers.

You could become a conventions director, which involves determining objectives and requirements for meetings, conferences and conventions. You will negotiate contracts with service providers such as hotels, convention centers and speakers, and monitor budgets. You will publicize events, ensure all compliance is met, hire and train staff and evaluate your conferences, conventions and trade shows to improve future events.
